Baby shower planner

Turn your due date into a baby shower window, a list of weekends to choose from and a step-by-step countdown. It also shows when a gender reveal party fits, if you are planning one.

Not sure? Use our due date calculator first.
If you already have a date in mind, enter it to see the countdown. Leave it blank and we will suggest one.
Important: These dates are suggestions based on your estimated due date, which may change after a scan. Babies can arrive before or after their due date, and some pregnancies, such as twins, are more likely to end earlier. If you have been advised that you may deliver early, choose a date towards the start of the window and check with your care team.

Your dates are processed in this page and are not sent to our server or saved by this tool.

When is the best time for a baby shower?

Most baby showers are held in the third trimester, between about 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. By then the bump is visible and the early weeks are well behind you, and there is still time to get the nursery ready. Many hosts pick a weekend from about 32 weeks, because it leaves a cushion if the baby arrives a little early. After 37 weeks a baby can arrive at any time and the mum-to-be may be tired, so later dates are usually avoided. Read more in our guide to when to have a baby shower.

How long does it take to plan?

Four to six weeks is comfortable for a simple party, and eight weeks gives you room for a venue, a caterer or guests who live far away. If you have less time, send digital invitations straight away, keep the menu simple and choose one or two games. Our baby shower ideas guide explains each step, and our budget baby shower guide helps if money is tight.

Planning a gender reveal party?

A blood test can show the baby's sex from about ten weeks, and most people find out at the mid-pregnancy scan at around 18 to 21 weeks. A reveal party works well in the second trimester, when many people feel their best. Our guide to planning a gender reveal party and our list of gender reveal ideas keep it fun and safe.
